Gabriel Bîrjovanu, a tenor from Iași with over 20 years of international experience in Norway, returns home to open Scandinavia Music School in Tătărași starting January 2026. The artist has collaborated with world-renowned conductors and performed in over 1,700 shows on European stages, in operas such as "La Traviata," "Carmen," and "Aida."
Training and International Career
Gabriel Bîrjovanu began his career at the Iași National Opera, where he had roles in "La Traviata," "La Bohème," and "Die Fledermaus." Afterward, he spent two decades in Norway, collaborating with world-class conductors such as Zubin Mehta and Riccardo Muti.
"My first opera roles in Iași were small, but for me they meant entire worlds... In those years, I learned enormously."
About his experience with international maestros, the artist confesses:

Return to Iași
After returning to the Iași stages in the role of Eisenstein from "Die Fledermaus," after 21 years, Bîrjovanu decided to transform this return into an educational project. Currently, he is in his third year of doctoral studies at UNAGE.
